OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God, without error in the original writings, and are the supreme and final authority in matters of faith and belief, life and relationships, behavior and attitude.

There is only one God, creator and sustainer of all that exists, and He Himself exists eternally in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Man was created in the image of God, designed for loving relationship with God, but rebelled against God, resulting in both physical death and spiritual death, which is separation from God. All human beings are born with a sin nature, defined by this rebellion and separation.

Jesus Christ was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit, born to the Virgin Mary, and is both fully God and fully Man. He lived a sinless life, and was executed on a Cross, dying as sacrifice for the sins of all humanity, accepting the punishment we deserved. He rose from the dead in His transformed and eternal physical body, ascended into Heaven, and currently intercedes as High Priest and Advocate for all who believe in Him.

Salvation – the full forgiveness of sins and the restoration of relationship with God – is now offered by God to all who will believe in His Son and trust in that Sacrifice. All who believe in Him are justified by His death, receiving a new and living nature united with God.

The Holy Spirit dwells in every Believer, bringing us the life and power of Jesus Christ to grow in His character, and giving each of us spiritual Gifts that equip us to contribute to one another’s growth.

The Church is the fellowship of all those who have believed in Jesus Christ, the Body of Jesus Christ on earth, called to help one another grow into the maturity of Christ, while also inviting our world to believe in the Good News of Jesus’ Sacrifice and Salvation. The Church is commissioned by Jesus to celebrate Baptism as a mark of discipleship, symbolizing our death and resurrection in Christ, and to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, honoring His death until He returns to earth.

Jesus Christ will personally return to earth in the same manner as He ascended to Heaven, physically and visibly, to set up His kingdom, wherein He will rule and reign in perfect righteousness. He will call to bodily resurrection all who have ever lived, the just and the unjust. All who have rejected God’s offer will go to eternal punishment for sin. All who have put their faith in God will live and reign with Christ for all eternity.
